Audio And Video File Search On Google - Search Google Smarter
I go to a small college that used to constantly pressure students to stop using file sharing networks on the schools network because they were facing legal trouble.
Even if you weren't downloading copyrighted material you still got in trouble if you were caught using any of the networks like lime-wire. Well this year the IT staff just decided to block all of these networks. They even blocked torrents from being downloaded (I thought I was so smart when I thought to download torrent files when I saw lime-wire was blocked). Well after much searching around the internet I found that the best way around these restrictions was simply learn to search google a little smarter.
What you want to do is use google's search limiting options when you search. I'm going to show you the code I use to search google for music and then I'll walk you through it (or if you don't care just copy and paste). The search is:
intitle:"index.of" (mp3|mp4|m4a) song.title.or.artist.here -html -htm -cgi -php Okay the first thing we see in this search is the intitle:"index.of" command. This is going to return only web sites with a title that contains the words "index of" in it. These sites are usuallyLocation: http://www.google.com/search
Keyword: musicWhen you have this hit okay and you're done. Now when you want to search google for music or videos you can simply type into the address bar "music title.of.song.or.video" and that will search google for you with the above mentioned line without having to retype every time. You can also save another bookmark named "video" or something for a separate search, just remember to use the keyword option and to insert" %s" where the title of the song/video would go.Okay hope this has been helpful to anyone looking for an alternate way to search for audio or video files.
