The Google Quick Search Box for Win XP is gone. Not the toolbar, but the QSB? (Answers: 2) (Comments: 0)
The box looks like this (http://www.google.com/quicksearchbox/qsb_mac.jpg) They have made it now for Mac. Then they have a toolbar for IE and Firefox, which I found. But I want the box not the bar and I want it for Chrome. It did seem to work with any browser. It gave you a pop up box that you could type a program or a word. If you had the program, it would give you the shortcut to the program. If it was a word, it did a Google search for it as if you were at Google.com. I erased my HD so the program is gone. I even copied it from another computer that has it, but it wont work. I only have the program and not the install.exe Can anyone help find it or is it just gone forever. I was the perfect combo of a search tool and application launcher. Please email me if you can samdajedi@gmail.com, if not pls answer here if you must. Thanks. Mike is wrong. That's the Mac Version. You can get a similar program if you download the complete "Google Desktop" program. That program is horrible, takes over your computer, and makes your system like a Google OS. I don't recommend that as a solution. Answer 2 about google secrets is too complicated and seems to be for a mobile phone and not a PC. Found my own answer after 3 days of searching and trying bad suggestions. Thanks! Downgrade to IE6 Uninstall the newest Google Toolbar if you haven't it already Goto FileHippo or someother site that keeps old version of programs Download the old verion of Google Toolbar for IE6 Bang, it's back and it works. Took me 3 days of searching and trying different tricks This was the easiest way by far When they added it for Mac and took it away from Windows it was obscene Especially since I had it on my other machines and couldn't get it on this one. There was no way to transfer it from one computer to the next and Google removed it from everywhere Thank God for File Hippo and the person who recommended this fix. I have a feeling that Microsoft was involved. I don't have Windows 7 but in the start button taskbar, isn't there a box where you can type a program name and it comes up? I'm pretty sure, the question is, is that also a internet search field? If not, I guess you go to the google toolbar. This would make the QSB not needed so much. The thing is, I like that you can use the same box to type a program or a search term all in the same place and you can make shortcut keys, put the box where you want, can customize it further. No wonder Mac owners are so thrilled with the QSB for Mac. It must be awesome using it for the first time.

how do you clear the Google Quick Search Box? (Answers: 3) (Comments: 1)
I know how to clear everything but that. The google quick search box is the one that when you enable it, you can press [ctrl]x2 to launch it. But I don't know how to delete its history. More details: I've tried all of that and it still doesn't delete the "Quick Search Box". I'm not talking about the search box on the actual internet browser, rather the "Quick Search Box" (shortcut key: [ ctrl ] + [ ctrl ]). And it's not porn chas :) I wondered who'd be the first to suggest that. I'm bringing in my personal Laptop for my office manager and I want to clear everything first.
