What If Your Google AdSense Ads Disappear From Your Pages
by John Elliott, aka Oaky Wood

Google's AdSense contextual ads may be a great addition on your website pages, and may in fact earn you a steady residual income, but what if for any reason those wonderful contextual ads don't show up for your visitors, then they really can leave great big gaps in your pages, making them look so unsightly, unfinished and so un-professional looking, and of course your pages are then not able to earn anything at all, leaving you, with probably hundreds of almost useless pages on your website, that you have lovingly toiled over, when building them, and now they simply sit there looking ugly and not making any revenue at all.

Why Is This Happening To You?

Believe it or not, it may not be all your fault, but it could be. Google and it's AdSense algorithm script will look at your pages and deliver the appropriate contextual ads it can find amongst it's massive data base of fee paying advertising customers, and they really do want to deliver the best ads available to your site, after all, they too don't get paid unless your visitors generate those clicks. Sometimes however it simply cannot find anything to match your keywords or page content. In this instance it may simply deliver public ads, which actually you don't earn anything from, and may even be inappropriate anyway for your individual page, and look so out of context.

Another reason Google Adsense ads don't appear on your pages is because your site may be in violation of Google's own complex rules, so they simply don't show any ads at all whilst they investigate, or they'll wait until you actually get in touch with them to ask the reason WHY. Either way it's always best to be courteous and professional, and state your own defence case in a precise manor if you believe that you are not violating any rules. It may be difficult sometimes to persuade Google otherwise, but be persistent and sure of your facts, and sometimes Google's staff will agree with you in the end and re-instate your ads. Whatever you do never try to deceive the Google AdSense team, because if caught out you most certainly will be banned forever, and so will your entire website, and if that happens you may as well pack up shop and go home, because this could be a death knell for any website you own.

Now Let's Fill In Those Gaping Gaps In Your Pages

First of all, make sure you are NOT violating any of Google's AdSense rules at all Secondly do your keyword research for your pages and ensure they correctly tie in well with your page content. Okay so this may sound like common sense, and in fact it actually is, but far too often website builders go a little OTT with their choices of keywords, and Google's algorithms simply ignores them as a result, or misinterprets the webmasters intentions and simply displays inappropriate ads or none at all, thus leaving the gaps previously mentioned.

Another good solution to avoid those gaps, is to take control yourself, by supplying an alternate ad yourself, of exactly the same size, as the ad box sizes you are using on your pages. This way instead of those white spaces, your visitors would then perceive your page as being complete, and would never really know that the Google contextual ads were in fact missing.

Google allows webmasters to do this legitimately within it's AdSense code by allowing you to insert this alternate ad tag with your own link embedded.

Here is a typical alternate ad line for a 300x250 adbox, I simply made my own ad page showing ads in a 300x250 format, then included this line below within the Google Adsense code. If you copy and paste the actual web address into your browser and keep pressing refresh you'll notice that I've actually created an ever changing group of ads using simple php random includes scripting to supply the different pages.

google_alternate_ad_url = "http://health-center.thecorner4women.com/alt-ads-300x250.php";

You must remember to put this on one line in your google adsense code. Using this simple solution above with all of your contextual ad codes, will ensure your pages are viewed looking their best, with no white space gaps, making your pages more professional too.

IN CONCLUSION

Never violate Google's AdSense rules, and always include your own alternate ads link within your AdSense code to enhance your pages, and continue to potentially earn yourself a residual income from them, which after all is the reason for those ads in the first place.
