If Metacafe Pays Money, Why Aren't They Leading YouTube?
There are but a few platforms for vlogging, the most popular of which are Metacafe and YouTube. You can make money with YouTube if you are bringing in a considerable amount of views, not chump change but like Chris Crocker, Avril Lavinge "Girlfriend" type of views, that many views. You need milllions of views, and also have to be in good standing with Google's AdSense program and if someone knows otherwise, please say something. Stop keeping vloggers in the dark and holding out on us there should be plenty of money to go around for everyone. As far as generating revenue I'm not talking about those uploading copyrighted videos but true vloggers here. Either the majority of vloggers are doing this for the love of the craft or they are truly ignorant to the potential their content has out there.
The reason I say so is the Metacafe pays 5/1000 cents per view. If you can get readers to read your articles and you have a knack for vlogging you should be able to pay for your gas through Metacafe. Too many vloggers on YouTube are pulling down 20, 000 views on mindless rants about stuff like light skinned vs. dark skinned or why Black women have low self esteem, or whatever. A lot of vloggers are promoting their own sex tips, so why aren't these pundits on Metacafe getting paid for their work?
If your social networking page on MySpace or Facebook is active you should be able to transfer some of that traffic to Metacafe. Why aren't they using Revver, which allows you to earn revenue on embedded videos? It just seems ironic that the largest platform is the most difficult place to make a decent living. At least with AdSense everyone and anyone could sign up you just had to get a considerate amount of clicks to earn the $100. Of course those clicks were weighted, but I doubt it was much more than a few hundred and could have been as low as 50 depending on what ads were clicked on.
Now with the explosion in the popularity of vlogging though people aren't reading articles so much. It's a lot easier to just maximize the video, turn up the volume, and sit back and be entertained. Myself personally though I still write, find it much easier to be entertained by video than to actually read other individuals blog posts. Not only that, but there seems to be a correlation between subscribing to someones content and their no longer producing it! Once I do get around to signing up to have the stuff pushed towards me they want to stop writing.
